Land Shark contains Abstract document records back to May 23rd, 1857 (except June 3rd, 1987 thru December 6th, 1988) and Torrens document records back to April 24th, 1909 (except December 27th, 1989 thru August 27th, 1990).  We are in the process of indexing these documents within Land Shark and will update the dates accordingly.  The Grantor/Grantee books are available in the Land Services Public Research room to search this missing gap.
Certificates of Title that have not been certified are not available within Land Shark.  Please contact our office to request a copy.  We are also in the process of entering all of our active Certificates of Title in the Volumes into Land Shark.

Errors and Omissions:  Although we strive to provide you with accurate and complete real estate records, the information provided in Land Shark is a working index and may contain errors and omissions due to errors in the preparation of the original document or in the indexing.  Please help keep our Real Estate Records accurate.  Contact our office @ 218-824-1231 or with any errors you find.  Thank you!

Search Tips

  • Search several different ways for each property, such as by party name, legal description or other pertinent information, and compare the results for accuracy.
  • To narrow results when searching by legal description, choose “Exact” from the drop down list under Search Matching.  This search option will only provide results that match all of your search criteria exactly.  “Contains” is our default search option and will provide the broadest search results.

WHEN DOING NAME SEARCHES remember to put a comma between the last name and the first name.

Example: Smith, John
